The story of "Wanderer in the Waste"

Trolling through CDs from old issues of Computer Music I came across a very intriguing sample/excerpt that I thought sounded really cool. It was not a loop but an approximately minute-long piece with a strong Middle Eastern flavor (you know, D minor pentatonic scale and all). I decided to take this and import it into Live and see what I could make from it.

After quite a bit of work I think I have something which is again more than a remix but not a completely original production. So the next step seemed to be to find out more about the mystery track.

The only clue I had was that the track was named "GG01001B.MP3." Well, that's what God invented Google for. It took a little digging, but based solely on that cryptic filename, I found out that it was a composition from a very talented musician named George Gousis. I contacted him and he has graciously offered to let me use his track as the basis of my remix/rearrangement.

The song play bar connects to my track which I finally entitled "Wanderer in the Waste."

Mr Gousis listened to the track and said encouraging things about it. I thank him for his time and generosity.
